Exam Instructions

The midterm and final exams will be posted on the Exams page of Blackboard (Bb). To open an exam, click the Exams button on the left side of the screen and scroll to the appropriate exam. Click on the exam title. You will be prompted with "Are you sure you want to take this assessment now?" Before clicking "OK", be sure you are prepared. Once you enter an exam, you must take it! You only have one chance to take each exam, so once you've opened it, there's no going back. (I recommend taking the Practice Quiz before opening a graded exam to make absolutely sure you feel comfortable with the exam function of Bb.)

The exams are timed in order to prevent excessive use of the textbook to answer questions, so have a clock or watch nearby. Take note of the time restriction before working on the exam! The computer will allow you to complete the exam even if you go over the time limit, but you will not receive full credit for your answers.

Complete the exam by selecting the responses that you think answer the test questions correctly and by typing in answers to the short-answer questions. Once you have completed the exam, click the Submit button at the bottom of the screen.

As soon as I have graded the short-answer questions, the online grade book will have both your score and a link to your exam sheet with the correct answers marked.

If you have any trouble with the exam function of Bb, please let me know ASAP (dawn.anzinger@oregonstate.edu). Faulty attempts can be corrected and deadlines can be extended where absolutely necessary, but I reserve the right to dock points from late exams.
