Getting Started
Download and set up the new template workspaces.
- Make a new folder on the local hard drive. Name it <coursenumber>.
- Download the EC_template_1_mx.zip file from the Faculty
Resources site.
- Unzip the site files into the new folder.
- Define the site in Dreamweaver with the following details:
- ONID personal web space
- ftp://ftp.onid.orst.edu
- Directory is public_html
- For Windows users, drag and drop files into this folder to
make them live to the Internet.
- For Macintosh and Windows users, upload using Dreamweaver's
FTP function in the Edit Sites area.
- WebEdit
- ftp is webedit.orst.edu
- Directory will be like this, depending on the account you
signed up for.
- /www/httpd-docs/instruct/<coursenumber>
- /www/httpd-docs/dept/
- /www/virtual/extension/<site>
- Enable the cache and Check In/Check Out
- Login to the server and add a folder for the new site.
- Adjust the site definition directory to put files directly into the
new folder on the server.
- Upload the index page from the local site folder to the server.
- Turn on the Accessibility preferences.
