| Skull Characteristics | Small P3 usually present. All Sciurus tree squirrels have similar characteristics: Zygomatic arches mostly vertical, not twisted to horizontal as in ground squirrels. Skull more angular, less streamlined, with a more robust postorbital process than ground squirrels. |
