Habitat Generalist. One of the widest ranging species in NA. Common in buildings.
Description

Strongly bicolored body and tail, back gray to brown, white belly, as other Peromyscus. Tail length almost equal to head/body. Ears smaller than P. truei, <22 mm. Total length ~16 cm, tail ~7 cm.

Many other Peromyscus species in North America are similar in appearance.

Skull Characteristics

Skull length ~2.5 cm. No groove in incisors (cp. R. megalotis). Coronoid process lower than or equal to condyloid process (cp. Onychomys).
