| Description | Strongly bicolored body and tail, back gray to brown, white belly, as other Peromyscus. Tail length almost equal to head/body. Ears smaller than P. truei, <22 mm. Total length ~16 cm, tail ~7 cm. Many other Peromyscus species in North America are similar in appearance. |
| Skull Characteristics | Skull length ~2.5 cm. No groove in incisors (cp. R. megalotis). Coronoid process lower than or equal to condyloid process (cp. Onychomys). |
