| Description | Cold adapted with thick fur, short ears, furred feet, large tail. Seasonal phases, white and brown. Coastal phases may be gray, tail NOT white-tipped. Lagopus means rabbit-foot, referring to the furry feet. No distinctive markings, unlike other foxes. |
