Diet Strict carnivore. Snowshoe hare of particular importance, linked to population dynamics.
Habitat Forest, arctic tundra
Description Tufted ears. Tip of tail not white underneath (cp. L. rufus), short tail < ½ length of hind foot. Large furry paws for moving on snow.
Skull Characteristics (cp. L. rufus) Presphenoid is “winged”, wider than 4mm. Openings of hypoglossal and jugular foramina separated by a “ridge”. Lynx (cp. Puma): 28 total teeth (one less upper premolar per side than Puma); postorbital breadth larger than interorbital breadth.
