| Description | Usually some dark spots and stripes. Short tufts of hair on ears. Tip of tail is black only on the dorsal surface, white underneath and longer than ½ the length of the hind foot. Bottom of paws not heavily furred. |
| Skull Characteristics | Presphenoid is long and narrow, less than 4mm wide. Hypoglossal and jugular foramina are enclosed within one opening creating a triangular foramen. Lynx (cp. Puma): 28 total teeth; postorbital breadth larger than interorbital breadth. |
