Diet Herbivorous, primarily grasses and sagebrush
Habitat Grassland, open arid brushy areas.
Description Tawny back, white belly, sides, and rump patch. Distinctive white and black markings on face/neck. The feet have only two digits; no dewclaws. Horns in both sexes, larger and branched in males.
Skull Characteristics Prelacrimal vacuity present, but no lacrimal depression. Two lacrimal foramina (one on edge of orbit). Orbits prominent and high on the skull, behind last molar. Horns or horns cores present (both sexes). Skull thin and light compared to other artiodactyls.
Notes Second fastest mammal in the world, 70 mph. Can’t jump fences.
