Habitat Arid scrub; pine forest; woodland. Roosts in caves or buildings. Rare, sensitive to disturbance.
Description Suborder Microchiroptera. Formerly in genus Plecotus, and this is a common synonym for the genus. Medium to large brown bat with huge ears close together on forehead. Fur gray at base. Fleshy bumps on snout.
Skull Characteristics Rostrum narrower than braincase; 2 upper incisors. Vespertilionidae family, lower incisors are trifid (3 cusps).
