An apple has played a prominent role in representations of gift giving including Eve's gift to Adam, apple sales by the poor, gifts to teachers, and a gift for Snow White. The subject of the gift is the same in each example but the meaning seems to vary. Share what you think these examples might tell us about some of the reasons people make gifts to others.
