- Stage of production
- Rain, dew or snowfall
- 1 gal water for 4 lb of 90% DM consumed
- Sheep have less fecal water loss than cattle
- 13-24% vs 30-32 for cattle
- Pregnant ewes can survive on snow alone
- Sheep grazing plants with 60-70% moisture will consume very little water
